I received my first chisel set when I was in high school and carved my first sculpture out of plaster, which was exposed at the Mendel art Gallery in Saskatoon the same year. Shortly afterwards, I participated in snow carving competitions, was trained in wood carving in Bénin, West Africa, became a member of Prairie Sculptors Association with whom I exposed, and carved wooden sculptures in Mexico, Guatemala and northern Saskatchewan.
Over the past 4 years, following a short hiatus, I have continued to focus my attention on wood as a material having honed my wood carving skills at L'école National du Meubles in Montreal and having completed a professional diploma in Cabinet Making with honours at Rosemont Technology Center in Montreal. My training in stone carving in Montreal and Nunavik has encouraged me to intergrate stone work and other materials, such as found metal objects, to my work.

J'ai reçu mon premier ciseau à bois au secondaire et j'ai taillé ma première sculpture en plâtre la même année; elle avait été exposée à la Gallery Mendel de Saskatoon la même année. Depuis ce moment, j'ai participé à des compétitions de sculpture sur neige, j'ai suivi une formation en sculpture sur bois au Bénin en Afrique de l'Ouest, j'étais devenu membre de Prairie Sculptors Association avec qui j'ai exposé, et j'ai fais des sculptures sur bois au Mexique, au Guatemala et au nord de la Saskatchewan.
Au cours des quatre dernières années, après avoir passé quelques années sans avoir mis les mains à la pâte, je me suis remis à me servir du bois comme matériel principal. J'ai suivi un cours de sculpture sur bois à l'école National du Meuble de Montréal et j'ai complété un diplôme d'études professionnelles avec honneurs en Ébénisterie au Centre de Technologie Rosemont à Montréal. Mes apprentissages en sculpture sur pierre acquises à Montréal et au Nunavik, et mon intérêt aux objets de métal usagés, m'amènent à intégrer ces matériaux à mes œuvres.
